William Jackson's Sewing Machines

William Jackson pioneered uncommon rotary hook mechanisms in his sewing machines, developing the innovative Automaton model in 1872 which adapted the American Elliptic hook design but proved challenging for seamstresses due to its lack of a thread take-up mechanism.
