Wanzer Choice
Graham Forsdyke
Trying to date a Wanzer A for a member, I flipped through the file dedicated to that Canadian maker.
As well as dating the machine in the 1880 period, one advertisement also confirmed something that I had suspected for some time -- that the A was not a substitute for the earlier Little Wanzer but an alternative model offered concurrently.
In 1880 the A sold for £4 4 shillings -- surprisingly the same price as the Little Wanzer.
